Captain's Summary - Easter 2009

May bumps brought good results for Peterhouse after a term filled with hard work in preparation for exams as well as hard work on the water in the lead up to Mays. All three crews performed well in May Bumps: the 1st Men’s VIII rose two places, the 2nd Men’s VIII rose three places and the 1st Women’s VIII finished second from the top of the W2 division; all great achievements despite the crews being hampered by unexpected illness and injuring in the weeks leading up to the event. It was undoubtedly the commitment of the coaches and rowers and especially Emanuel which meant that training was able to continue.

As well as bumps the Men’s and Women’s 1st Eights competed in Champs Head and the Women’s 1st VIII and Men’s 2nd VIII competed in Nine’s Regatta. Before the term began several members of the Club also took part in the Small Boats regatta. Race reports for all of these events are available via the links above.

I would like to thank all of the coaches for their hard work, everyone who has come down to the river to support us, those who support the club financially through the PBCF and everyone who has subbed in when needed this term.
